Mixing Facilities

KOSSAN’s mixing facilities have the capacities of compounding 24,000 tonnes of rubber compound annually. KOSSAN has capability to design and mix compounds from NR to wide range of synthetic rubbers to suit applications and specifications meeting ASTM, SAE or JIS standards.

• Fully automated Banbury mixing system and kneaders complete with mill for mixing black & colour compounds.
• Mixing over 10,000 metric tonnes of rubber compounds per year.
• Mixing wide range of polymer types for various applications and meeting customers’ specifications.

Moulding Facilities

KOSSAN’s moulding facility has quality system certified to IATF 16949 Automotive Parts manufacturing. Moulding Department being the core of our Technical Rubber businesses servicing clients from Automotive, Aerospace, Fire Protection and Flow Control, Home appliances, Construction, Conveyor systems, Industrial supplies and many others significant industries worldwide.

• Injection machines with tonnage ranging from 200 up to 500 Tonnes
• Compression machines ranging from tonnage of 200 up to 1,050 and Platen Size of 700x700mm to 2400x660mm

Rubber Extrusion Facility

Our extrusion lines are capable of extruding a continuous profile up to a width of 450mm with a height of 50mm or a maximum of 28 kgs per meter length in both solid and closed-cell sponge/foam material meeting customers’ requirements and technical specifications, complete with cuts to length and jointing. With a full tooling capability, this enhanced and sped up the fabrication of new Dies and development of Profiles and Parts for our customers.

• Full Tooling facility including Wire-cutting machine, Spark-erosion machine and various precision metal working tools
• 2 Units 90mm cold-feed Extruders, with and without vacuum [Troestor and Iddon Brothers]
• Infra-red and Microwave curing tunnel with belt width of 260mm; with high speed hot-air tunnel belt width up to 360mm
• Shock heat curing tunnel
• Fully-automatic Hydraulic Cutting machines
• Compression Jointing Machines

Rollers & Polyurethane Facilities

• Building machines for various types of industrial and printing rollers
• PU injection machine & PU Lathe machine
• Handle rollers up to 1250mm in diameter and 7 metres in length
• CNC Machine with multitasking grinding specially designed for grinding and grooving
• Steam autoclaves up to 1500mm diameter with length of 6000mm

The KOSSAN Laboratory operations support the on-going testing needs for our customers. Rubber materials developed are tested for its material characteristics, physical and mechanical properties according to our customer requirements.

The KOSSAN Laboratory operations cover the following activities:

• Pre-shipment product and material testing
• Research and Development material testing
• Automotive product testing
• Gage calibration and measurement system analysis activity (MSA)

The KOSSAN Laboratory is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 under the Laboratory Accreditation Scheme Malaysia (SAMM No 464) administered by Standards Malaysia. The accreditation and our on-going new method development and scope expansion further enhance, upgrade and establish our technical capabilities to provide fast and reliable results to our customers.
