Quality Assurance

As a leading manufacturer of diversified technical rubber products in Malaysia, KOSSAN had set up the Quality Assurance Department as our main coordinator in managing our Quality Management System and Environmental Management System within the respective companies under the Technical Rubber Division. It maintains close liaison with the various departments for system compliances. Added to that we also work very closely within the respective QA department to carry out internal audits between the subsidiary companies.

Management Review Meetings are also periodically carried out to assure the KPIs and measurable objectives are set and monitored for continual improvements.

In addition, our production processes are controlled by an online database system. This customized program is a useful tool for managing and monitoring their manufacturing process controls effectively and efficiently.

Our manufacturing processes covered rubber compound mixing process; quality technical rubber moulded parts, extruded rubber profiles for engineering purposes and manufacturing of industrial rubber rollers.

We have been certified to ISO 9001, IATF16949 Automotive Parts manufacturing QMS by TUV Rheinland. These certifications are our commitment towards providing exceptional products that surpass clients' expectations in terms of quality and pricing. Coupled with our skilled workforce and the ability to manage better cost efficiency, it has put us on the path to achieving high quality technical rubber products. The IATF 16949 Automotive QMS is a testament of our commitment in building a strong rapport with leading foreign IATF 16949 certified automotive manufacturers. In line with that, we have incorporated APQP, FMEA, PPAP, MSA, SPC and other relevant areas of quality system to be on par with leading automotive manufacturers in the world. Added to that, Meggitt Aircraft Braking System (MABS) has awarded us with “Certified Quality Award” which is an additional recognition for our QMS implementation at KIND.

We have also fulfilled to General Motors Quality System Basics compliances to ensure KOSSAN are reputable and source-able entity for General Motors Global Sourcing & Supply Chain. We attained this achievement in 2015. Our KOSSAN Laboratory also accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 by Standards Malaysia for various physical & mechanical testing. KOSSAN also maintaining a product certification certificate by IKRAM for various pipe seals under BS EN 681:Pt.1. As for the Environmental Management System, we embarked in 2016 for implementation in our plant and successfully certified to ISO14001 in early 2017. Next, we will be moving towards Occupational Health and Safety Management System, ISO 45001. We had a formal launching ceremony in March 2022 to mark this goal, targeting for successful certification by early of 2023.

Hibon Corporation Sdn. Bhd. has received certification from LRQA for the ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 Quality Management Systems as well as the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System. Hibon entered another significant milestone following the successful third-party back-to-back certification for IATF 16949 and ISO 14001. They are also endorsed with Ford Q1 Compliance Manufacturing Site by Ford North America Plant. They are committed to meeting all of the customer expectations, and requirements and continually improving the implementation of the quality and environmental management system throughout their entire business. Hibon is also committed to improving and becoming more capable of demonstrating the diverse needs of customer-specific requirements.

All the certifications are a testimony of KOSSAN's quality management system. In maintaining the QMS, we also conduct regular internal audits to ensure that the QMS is continually maintained and improved from time to time.

As for Doshin Rubber Products (M) Sdn Bhd / Quality Profile Sdn Bhd, their Quality Management System has been certified to ISO 9001 by TUV Rheinland. Added to that, their e-Lab Testing and Research Centre already accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 by Standards Malaysia for Compression Quality Assurance, Visual Test and Compression Stiffness & Shear Stiffness test for Laminated Elastomeric Bearings, Elastomeric Bearing Pads and Strips; Compression Quality Assurance Test, Compression Stiffness, Vertical Load Test, Horizontal Load Test, Friction & Sliding Test and Rotation Test for Structural Bearings; Compression Quality Assurance Test, Compression Stiffness and Horizontal Capacity for Seismic Bearings; Compression Strain Test, Quality Assurance Test, Compression Stiffness Test and Shear Modulus for Elastomeric Bearings. Apart from that they have also certified for Tensile Properties Elongation at Break, Hardness (Shore A, IRHD), Compression Set, Ozone Resistance, Heat Accelerated Aging & Bonding Strength for Material Properties Vulcanized Rubber testing under ISO/IEC 17025 certification.

Apart from that we have very ambitious goal by moving the technical Rubber Bearings manufacturing operation for CE mark compliance to cater the European Market as well. Currently have already certified for CE Mark under TZUS for Anti Seismic Devices Pendulum Bearings (EN15129); Structural Bearing Elastomeric Bearing (EN1337); Anti Seismic Devices Lead Rubber Bearings (EN15129); Structural Bearings Fixed, Guided and Free Sliding Bearings (EN 1337); Anti Seismic Devices High Damping Rubber Bearings (EN15129) and Structural Bearings Spherical Bearings (EN 1337).

Generally all these certifications are our testimony of KOSSAN’s Quality Management System. In maintaining the QMS, we also conduct periodical internal audits to ensure that the QMS is continuously maintained and further improved from time to time.
